Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingStock Market still searching for a bottom! The past week was the worst in a long time, hopefully better times are just ahead.

So what do you think about tariffs? When farmers begin to have problems selling their wheat, corn, soybeans abroad, will be ‘tell-tell time.’ They tend to speak in a different tone and get lots of attention. Guess time will tell.

In the meantime, just have to trust our leaders and pray they do the right thing.

I see young folks ‘jacking up’ older model cars, using ‘wild’ paint schemes, listening to loud music and think, what in the world are they thinking. Then I remember as a younger person, gutted mufflers, fender skirts, moon hubcaps, whip antenna, loud music, hanging out on the corner in downtown Bladenboro ’til midnight or later with friends. I could purchase $1 worth of gas (3 or 4 gallons, maybe more) and tour the town, getting about 10-12 miles per gallon. The only thing that has changed is I’m to old to lay-out half the night. Guess I could do it beginning about 3 AM, when I am wide awake.

Reminder of Political Appreciation Day, today, beginning at 5:30 PM at Lu Mil.

Friends of Robby Priest are sponsoring a BBQ dinner fundraiser 2 weeks from today, April 7, 5-8 PM at the E-town Presbyterian PAC facility. Plates will be $8 each and a silent auction will be held. Coach Priest has been undergoing treatment for a medical problem for several months.

My one person research department continues to produce ‘thought provoking’ one-liners, the following direct from church bulletins:

The Fasting and Prayer Conference includes meals.

For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be “What is Hell?” Come early and listed to our choir practice.
