Thoughts While ShavingAnother week has come and gone, 2018 is ‘flying by’.

Reminders:

Festivities at Bladenboro Farmers Market today, Spring Fling from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., including a performance by ‘Wingtips’ at 1 p.m.

Friends of Robby Priest are sponsoring a fundraiser (BBQ plates) and more from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church PAC building, located behind the church.  Coach Priest is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

Looking ahead,  the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce meets Tuesday, April 10, at 12 noon at the   Cape Fear Farmers Market.  The guest speaker is Lisa Crawford, Senior Advisor, Special Projects with DMV-NCDOT.  Members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.

Wednesday, April 11th – Shriners Fish Fry at Food Lion Parking lot, Elizabethtown, NC.

April 17th – Deadline for filing taxes.

April 19th – Bladen County Educational Foundation Jail-A-Thon.  Proceeds benefit school system.

Later this month,
20th – Bladen We Care Gala at The Venue, White Lake. (tickets still available $50 per person)
21st – Fundraiser for Mr. Alvin Butler, Center Roads Baptist Church, Bladenboro.
26th – Bladen We Care Golf Tournament, Vineyard Golf Course, White Lake.
28th – Kelly Spring Festival, Kelly Ballpark

And, a reminder, April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, so declared by the Bladen County Board of Commissioners.  Festivities include an Awareness Walk beginning at 12 noon, April 28th, at San Jose Restaurant parking lot and ending at Bladen County Courthouse.

Happy Birthday to my Aunt Thelma Kay, 91 recently (April 5th).  Celebration today.
