Thoughts While ShavingThink often about a gospel tune by the original Dove Brothers Qt.,  ‘Sure Could Use a Little Good News today’.  Nothing in particular, about a week without extremes highs and lows in our everyday life would be good, especially at the national level.  Seems the pace and extremes have increased.

Chamber meeting at 12 noon today at E-town Farmers Market.  Come and bring a friend.

The annual Bladen We Care Gala/Dance featuring Blackwater Ryhthm Band will be held Friday, April 20 fro 7-11 PM at The Venue, White Lake.  Tickets on sale, $50 each.  Call 910-876-2322, 910-876-3120 or 910-862-9004 or may be purchased from Bladen We Care board members.

Tax deadline is one week from today, Tuesday, April 17.

Remember when life was less hectic?  As a younger person, more time and things to do that would not make mom proud of her ‘youngsters’, well some of them.  No problem now, age takes care of it all.

Campaign rhetoric is ‘pickin up’ and the pace will continue to increase for another 4 weeks from today.  May 8 is Election Day.  Campaign promises, galore.

A friend donated some inexpensive signs in my early days of being a politician, I posted them throughout the county.  Rain came, the ink began to slide down the poster, it was not a pretty sight, but it worked.

I remember those days, great experience.  Thank goodness, those days are in the rear-view mirror.

Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer.  Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past.  Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.  John F Kennedy
