In our system of government, there are all types, loud, boisterous, huge egos, a few of the quiet type. Then there are real leaders, who do not hold office, never cast a vote, never brag or boast, respected by all. Barbara Bush falls in the second category. Maybe the most respected of the Bush family. She spoke her mind when the occasion needed a thoughtful spokesperson, she defended members of her family. She was just Barbara, and the nation loved and respected her. She died earlier this week, a good lady.
Barbara Bush quotes:
To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.
Cherish your human connections – your relationships with friends and family.
At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, your children, or a parent.
War is not nice.
I married the first man I ever kissed. When I tell my children that, they just about throw up.
