Thoughts While ShavingReady for a new week?  It’s here and there is so much activity in the area.

First, early elections continue at sites in Bladenboro, Dublin, East Arcadia & Elizabethtown.  Google Bladen County Board of Elections for exact locations and hours of operation.  The time varies for each location.

Bladen We Care Golf Tournament will be held Thursday at The Vineyard, White Lake, NC.  Special Olympics is upcoming soon, White Lake Water Festival is less than a month away and more sponsors are needed.  Contact Dawn Maynard at the E-town-White Lake Chamber of Commerce.  I’m sure there are others.  Check our Events page for more.

Rain is in the forecast, much needed rain as farmers begin a new crop year.  Forecast indicates heavy rain at times, strong winds thru Tuesday evening with thunderstorms and high temps in the upper 60s to low 70s and overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s.

BladenOnline had a 39 percent drop in page views and a 45 percent drop in visits from the previous record setting week, still recorded almost 150,000 page views for the week and more than 27,000 visits.

The 520,000 page views for the first 21 days of April has already surpassed last April’s full total by more than 90,000.  April 2018 will be among the top 5 months all-time for page views.

BladenOnline by the numbers:

April 15-21

Page views: 148,899

Visits: 27,686

April 8-14

Page views: 244,623

Visits: 50,291

Year Ago

Page views: 100,224

Visits: 26,957

Records are being set, our original goal was: Page views, anything over 100,000, weekly.  And Visits, 15,000 to 20,000, max.   And quiet frankly, we knew many were expecting much less, some expecting a total flop; but hard work, and a strong performance by the current staff continues to amaze all.  Best news source around for readers and advertisers in this area is BladenOnline, and we thank them all.

The way to change the world is through individual responsibility and taking local action in your own community.  Jeff Bridges

For me, summer is here when locally grown tomatoes reappear in local farmers’ markets.

There are so many local nonprofits making a positive impact every day, and yet, often times we don’t hear enough about them, what they do and their needs.
