Congratulations to Jay Raynor, Bladen County Teacher of the Year and Peggy Hester, Principal of the Year. Raynor is East Bladen teacher/coach and Hester is principal at West Bladen. Teacher of the year for individual schools were also named.
Special Olympics will be held today at Elizabethtown Middle School athletic field. Opening ceremonies at 10 AM. If you have never been, you have missed a great experience.
A meeting is being planned to discuss the Opioid Crises in Bladen County. Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 24. The meeting will be held at Bladen Community College beginning at 6:30 PM. An opportunity for all to learn some startling data about Bladen County.
Google ‘White Lake Alum Application’ for info related to efforts to treat the water at White Lake. HAB Aquatic Solutions (HAB) will be applying alum to reduce the amount of phosphorus in the water, which leads to less frequent and intense algal blooms and better water clarity. Lots of info on the site. The treatment will begin shortly.
