May has been a wet month, not sure how much rainfall, but wet. Fortunately, the rain was needed. Monday, we recorded over 2 inches of rain at the Hester household, about the same at the Curtis Brown Airport in Elizabethtown. More is expected over the next few days. The National Weather Service forecast indicates an 80% chance today, 60% on Wednesday and 50% on Thursday.
Row crops are looking good in our area.
Brunswick CC lost to Sinclair 7-2, yesterday in the NJCAA baseball tournament in Enid, Oklahoma. East Bladen alum Kyle Tatum was 0 for 1 in the game. With a 1-2 record in the tournament, the Dolphin’s season is over.
Can’t imagine being a senior in high school. By this time of year, I was just ready to move on to school or a job. Actually already had a job, then went to a trade school. There was no Bladen Community College in the 50s and 60s. Today, it is a great option for many.
