Stock market up and down recently. Today, President Trump says tariffs on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods will ‘kick in’ this morning, China says its tariffs on U.S. goods would take effect immediately after the U.S. duties ‘kick in’. A former Australian ambassador to China told CNBC “it looks like the first shots to the trade war are about to be fired. We’ll probably see escalation. China has made it absolutely clear.”
Hang on for what could be a painful ride, unless the two world leaders come to some agreement, according to many who know more than most about world trade policies.
It is a ‘high level’ exercise to see who will blink first. Hopefully, this trade war will be settled soon.
