Thoughts While ShavingWeather forecast for today (Saturday).  Cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 90.  Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday Night…Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 11 pm.  70% chance of precipitation with new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

I am in full ‘check mode’ when it comes to news, any type news.  Snopes and FactCheck are two pretty good sources to determine the truthfulness, or lack of truth for most articles, wherever they originate.

Bladen County Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting at 5pm Monday to consider a request from the Board of Education to consider including a referendum related to an additional 1/4 cent sales tax on the November ballot.

Hopefully, tourist numbers are ‘holding up’ well for White Lake visitors, despite recent water issues.  Good to see folks having fun at the lake and in the water.

Another reminder of the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at the recently renovated Tory Hole Park, located at 275 N. Poplar Street.  The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.Monday, and the public is invited to attend.

Sad story out of Branson, Missouri.  A boating accident left 17 dead, ranging in age from 1 to 70, including 9 from the same family.  Had Branson was my ‘bucket list’ for years, but has moved down the list over the years.
