Thoughts While ShavingNever dreamed there was so much ‘drug activity’ as appears to be now in Bladen County, every area of the county.  Sheriff’s deputies are making a concerted effort to ’round them up, lock them up’ and get them off the streets and in a courtroom.  Problem is all to often they are back on the streets in a short period of time. If you think you have that type activity in your community, contact the Sheriff’s department.

Lt. Governor Dan Forrest made a ‘quick’ stop in Bladen County recently and met with a group of supporters in a quickly arranged meeting.  He spoke briefly, then held a Q & A session.  Topics included the state of the educational system in the state, including students being better prepared for numerous occupations that do not require a college education, lawsuits by ‘outsiders’ related to the hog industry, and a hint of his future plans.  Forrest is in his second term as Lt. Governor and is expected to be a candidate for Governor in the future.

One attendee made the comment that you pay $75 an hour for an attorney or a plumber.  More truth than fiction.

The Lt. Governor worked for 20 years as an architect in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) prior to his political career.

As Congress moves forward in the selection of a new Supreme Court Judge, conversation is increasing about any citizen of America being above, or exempt from the law of the land.  My civics teacher, years ago, taught no citizen was above the law and I believe my civics teacher then and now.  Today, not sure if civics is even a topic discussed in the classroom.  If it is, great. If not, it should be.  My opinion…..
