Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingHope your Easter was good….busy, but good would best describe many, including the Hester household…Early morning service, breakfast at church, Sunday School, Worship Service, lunch with extended family, visit neighbors in p.m. and enjoy a good nights rest….did miss son #2….but had a couple of conversations….all in all… a good day.

Enjoy spending time “playing on the Internet”….The NC Baseball Hall of Fame is located at Fleming Stadium in Wilson…Scrolled through….Discovered at least two who were born in Bladen who made a quick stop in the major leagues…

First was Don Prince, born April 5, 1938 in Clarkton.  Graduated from Floyd High School in Nichols, SC.  Played one game in 1983 with the Chicago Cubs.  Best I could determine he failed to get a hit..He pitched one inning, hit one batter, and turned a double play in the field….Two numbers were listed as his…#’s 48 & 47….no explanation…

Second was Tyrrell Godwin of East Bladen High School.  Tyrrell played in 3 games for the Washington Nationals in 2005. Wore #1 uniform, he had 3 at bats, one strike out and no hits….Might add, Godwin had an outstanding college career in football and baseball at UNC and minor league ball, primarily in New Orleans…Now in the banking business…

I am told there are items of interest regarding the Bladenboro Spinners and others from the area…Several players from Columbus, Robeson and Sampson counties…

One other site unrelated to sports is NC Court System…Google NC court calendar, District and Superior court calendars for every county in the state…put in a last name and see how many of your friends are listed…

Holidays related to Easter are interesting, confusing….Some agencies are closed on Good Friday, some Easter Monday and some both…some neither….Come Tuesday, all returns to normal schedule….I hope….

Public School students off for the week, Charter Schools been out for 3 weeks, return Tuesday…I am told…

Duke vs Wisconsin for NCAA Basketball 2015 Championship….Gametime ….9:18 p.m.

“I do not like broccoli….I’m president of the United States and I’m not going to eat any more broccoli.”  George H.W. Bush.
