Thoughts While Shaving

Pray for Florence, SC police family.  5 officers shot, one killed late Wednesday.  What is this world coming to?

Volunteers still accepting items for Kelly area residents.  Cleaning supplies are high on the most wanted (needed) list.  Prefer individual size packaging.  Items may be delivered to Paul H. Sessoms building in Elizabethtown.  Other items are needed/accepted as well.  The Kelly community continues to suffer following Hurricane Florence’s recent visit.

A little bird told me one or more truckload of supplies should arrive today from sister city, Elizabethtown, Ky.  Follow BladenOnline throughout the day for updates.

Congratulations to East Bladen’s Zack Mears, named WECT’s Athlete of the Week.

How about Larrell Murchison?  The big man has ‘stepped up’ for the NC State Wolfpack football team.  Huge game last week, coach is happy, mom and dad must be so happy and twin brother is recuperating, and bet he is happy. Farrell was having a great career at Winston Salem State before being diagnosed with cancer.  Pray he is well soon, and back doing what he enjoys.

Bladenboro dealing with several issues, too much water, retirements, resignation of Administrator but come Friday and Saturday, October 26 & 27, gonna be a huge celebration, the Annual Beast Festival, and all are invited.  Hope to see you there.  Join me for a collard sandwich….

NC Grape Festival Saturday, October 13 at LuMil Vineyard, and Seafood & Sunset, October 25th at The Venue at Regal Resort, White Lake, it’s the annual fundraiser for the Bladen Community College Foundation.

There are other events, I am sure.  Busy time in Bladen, and BladenOnline covers it all.

BladenOnline numbers dropped slightly following Hurricane Florence’s visit, but still strong.  Yes, we have the proof!
