Thoughts While ShavingNot sure about a Mega Million (Billion) winner last night.  As of early Saturday (10/20/18) no one had stepped forward. Still early.

According to statistics related to US lotteries $72.97 billion is spent annually on lottery tickets or about $223 for every American citizen.  Not sure if the math adds up, just repeating someone else info.

Tonight, a drawing for Power Ball will be held and it apparently will be worth over $400 million.

Remember the Kevin Conner family in your thoughts and prayers.  Will be a tough weekend for the family and friends.  Visitation and funeral Sunday afternoon at South Columbus High School near Tabor City.

A Gospel Sing is set for 6 to 9 PM this evening at West Bladen High School to benefit Darby Carroll Bordeaux. Admission is $8 per person and tickets will be available at the door.  Singers include The Mighty Echoes, Leap of Faith, Glorybound, Dr. Mack Roberts & Tina Purvis.

Activities over the next few weeks are listed on our Events Page.  October and November are busy, busy times in Bladen.  And, old St. Nick will be arriving in a couple of months.

Have you voted?  Early voting continues at the Bladen County Library.

And sadly, con artist are operating in the area.  Price gouging has been reported in the county related to clean-up after the recent storms.  Be aware.  If you think you are a victim, call appropriate authorities.  Best to get estimates in advance of work, if possible.

College football today, NC State at Clemson, just one of several in the area.  Both teams are undefeated.  Gametime is 3:30 PM.  Former East Bladen High star Laurel Murchison is an anchor on the defensive line for the Wolfpack.
