Thoughts While ShavingCapt. Jeff Singletary is retiring from the Sheriff’s office after 30 years, joining his long time partner Captain Jeff Bridgers in retirement.  Singletary, among other things, played a major role in the construction of the new Law Enforcement Center.

Early voting continues today and until 1 PM Saturday at the Bladen County Library.  The General Election is set for Tuesday, November 6, with 17 voting sites open across the county.

NFL action last night: 49ers 34 – Raiders 3.

Tonight, 7:30 PM, high school football, East Bladen travels to West Bladen.  One game will remain in regular season play after tonight.  Last night East Bladen Jayvees defeated West Bladen 38-0.

A reminder of the Annual Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Bladenboro Rotary Club Saturday (tomorrow) morning.  Good food, good fellowship and proceeds will benefit an area senior in the form of a college scholarship.

One of the things I like most about this time of year, grass cutting is coming to a halt for 2018.

Checking BladenOnline activity for October and the year-to-date.  Page views were down 17 percent from October 2017.  However, October 2017 had the most page views for month in history.

Users, which is the number of different ‘people’ that visited BladenOnline at least once during the month was up 5 percent over 2017.

It was the 13th consecutive month that BladenOnline has surpassed 500,000 page views and the 12th time that BladenOnline has surpassed 600,000 page views in its history.

The 6.1 million page views for the first 10 months of 2018 matches the total page views for all 12 months of 2016 and the 510,211 user thus far in 2018 is the most in history for a year.
