A loss is a loss is a loss, but not sure which causes the most pain, an old fashion butt-kicking like the Steelers delivered to the Panthers (52-21) in NFL play last night or a loss on the last play of the game like Wake Forest delivered to the NC State Wolfpack (27-23). Both are painful!
High School football action tonight for the Three Rivers Conference championship when the East Bladen Eagles travel to South Columbus.
West Bladen entertains Red Springs. Game time for both is 7:30 PM.
Lu Mil Vineyard’s Annual Festival of Lights and country buffet begins in a couple of weeks.
Star Telephone’s annual meeting will be held at Bladen Community College beginning at 10 AM Saturday (tomorrow). The business of the cooperative will be discussed and prizes awarded. Entertainment will be provided by the New Dove Brothers. All members are encouraged to attend.
I look forward to Thanksgiving season, not just for a feast, brings back so many wonderful memories of traveling to both sets of grandparents, sometimes in a mule and wagon, pumpkins (jack-o-lanterns), stacks of corn stalks, and stories of the first Thanksgiving celebrated by the pilgrims, many, many years ago. In recent years, football has become a part of the day. I enjoy it all.
