Need to begin by correcting one item from yesterday.  Bladen County Commissioners meet Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at their usual meeting place, the Bladen County Courthouse.  The change is due to Monday being a holiday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day….
The MLK Annual Parade is scheduled for 11 a.m.  Monday thru downtown Elizabethtown.  A memorial service is planned after the parade at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church, followed by a light lunch, open to all.
The weather for the next 48 to 72 hours should be interesting….
Showers before 10 a.m. today (Sunday) followed by gradual clearing with temps dropping to the upper 40s by 5 p.m., and windy.  Low tonight, in the low to mid 20s with northwest winds 8 to 14 mph and gusts as high as 22 mph.
Monday, sunny with a high near 37 and windy, Monday night, clear with a low of 22.  Tuesday, sunny with a high near 44.  Wednesday’s forecast, a chance of showers, high near 66 and a 40% chance of rain.
A salute to retired coroner Hubert Kinlaw.  Family, co-workers and other friends celebrating his 60th year with Sampson Bladen Oil Co recently.  Congratulations…
Tar Heel Camp 1044 Woodman Life held their annual awards ceremony recently….Honorees included Wanda Singletary, Archie Bordeaux and Marie Jackson….And to each, Congratulations.
I am an expert in nothing, stumbling along the way and attempting to enjoy the trip.  Yesterday, I discovered (too much time on my hands) that my Facebook profile did not include my early years at WBLA, so decided I would update and holy cow, no idea it would be front page news on my home site, but it was.  Heard from folks haven’t heard from in years.  A little embarrassing but fun.  Never intended such a to-do over nothing….Thanks to all who responded….
NFL action this p.m.   Rams and Saints at 3:05 p.m. and Patriots vs Chiefs at 6:40 this evening.
