Thoughts While Shaving
Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday evening, 6:30 p.m., regular session.  They will also meet at Centerville Baptist Church in Kelly, Tuesday, March 19, a Special community meeting related to the White Oak Dike Levee System than failed during the last major storm, late last year and caused flooding in the community.  And, a third meeting this week, another Special meeting on Thursday, March 21 to continue discussion related to FY 2019-20 budget issues.  The 10 a.m. meeting will be held at the Mac Campbell, Sr. Terminal Building at the Elizabethtown Airport.

 

Bladenboro volunteers held another successful fund raiser yesterday afternoon and evening.  Early reports indicate over $24,000 raised to assist Murray Hester, a victim of ALS.  Another example of volunteers in a Bladen County community taking care of one of their own.

 

Bladen County United Way volunteers sponsored a St. Patrick’s Day, Fund Day yesterday with all proceeds going to support United Way efforts.

NCAA will announce March Madness pairings late this afternoon (Sunday).

 

Congratulations to Eagles Football Coach Robby Priest.  He has been named as an assistant coach for the 2019 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.  The 83rd annual bowl between North Carolina and South Carolina senior all-stars will be played on December 21 at Wofford College.
