Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

As I grow older I have little or no appetite for controversy.  With that as my starting place.

I will be happy when people are judged on their own merits, not by Republican or Democrat, but as Americans.

I will be happy when the Mueller report is complete, let the chips fall wherever.

I will be happy when the tariffs are lifted, when there is some finality to the wall along our southern border.

I will be happy when the 10 commandments are the basis for how we treat one another. thou shalt not kill, love thy neighbor as thyself for beginners…..

There has always been differences, mostly at the national level, much today at the state level and seems more than ever at the local level.

I blame no one in particular, neither party, neither is perfect, no way they can be perfect as imperfect individuals tussle over who has an advantage over the other.

For many years, I enjoyed politics, but over the years it has changed, at least from my perspective.  Thought I had seen it all, but I was wrong, again.

America is a great nation, ruled and governed by mostly decent but imperfect individuals who, it seems to me should use and I repeat, the Ten Commandments and the Constitution as a guide.  We will always have differences, but do we have to hate one another because we disagree.  Then go to church on Sunday and sing great hymns about Leaning on Jesus, Just As I Am & Blessed be the Tie That Binds.

Seems to me we are coming unbound.  Hopefully, this too will pass. Hopefully I am misreading the tea leaves.  I am an old ‘poot’ who still believes we live in the greatest nation in the world.  Good, but imperfect.

Guess a dose of ‘castor oil’ would get my mind off the world around me.  My mom thought it would make a difference from time to time, and it did and no doubt it will again.

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking.  It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.  Albert Einstein

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.  Arnold Bennett

The world hates change, yet it is the only thing what has brought progress.  Charles Kettering
