Bladen County Special Olympics event, 2019 was well attended by an enthusiastic crowd, Thursday at Elizabethtown Middle School football field.  Lots of energy by participants and supporters.

Thursday, April 25, Bladen We Care Golf Tournament at The Vineyard Golf Course, White Lake.
Saturday, April 27, Relay for Life from 11 AM to 11 PM.  Nearly $20,000 has already been raised.  The goal this year is $130,000.  Proceeds support Cancer Research.

Bladen County supporters for worthy efforts are the best….
Bladen County’s population numbers continue to drop.  In 2010, there were 35,192 folks that called Bladen home, latest numbers (2018),
dropped to 33,190, a decrease of 5.7%.  In real numbers, just over 2,000.  (All numbers are estimates)
State wide, the population continues to increase, the latest estimates indicate 10.3 million statewide up from about 10.2 million in 2017.  Most of the increase is in the larger counties…..Wake, Mecklenburg, Guilford, Forsyth, Buncombe, etc.  Mecklenburg currently has 1,084,290 residents and #2 Wake has 1,023,811.  Tyrrell is the smallest with 4,407. (Columbia is the county seat)

Churches countywide celebrate the Easter holidays in various ways.  Check for details.
Be aware of the possibility of storms, including windy conditions throughout this day.
There should be an Easter Egg Hunt for Senior Citizens, and they should be allowed to hide there own eggs.
