First things first….it’s raining now and rain is forecast through about noontime Sunday.  Today’s (Friday) forecast…Rain, High near 48.  Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gust as high as 20 mph.  100% chance of precipitation with new amounts in the three quarters to one inch range…..pretty much the same temp for the next 48 hours.

Call ahead if outside activities are scheduled…may or may not be affected….

Elizabethtown’s Port & Beats Festival planned for today and tomorrow….cook BBQ today and eat it Saturday…Many events planned at the Farmers Market…and there are other events planned throughout the region.  Check our Community Board on News Page….for a partial listing…

East Bladen High School’s football season ended last night in Pinetops, NC.  The Eagles lost to SouthWest Edgecombe 48-13.

Many games in eastern NC were rescheduled for Thursday, due to the weather.  Other scores;

Whiteville 41, Wallace Rose Hill 7

NFL action last night…Cleveland Browns 21 – Pittsburgh Steelers 7.

West Bladen high school reverse raffle set for Saturday night….Call Allen Brisson for a ticket…876-1819.  Proceeds benefit West Bladen athletics.

As of 5:30 AM Friday, rainfall amounts recorded at the Curtis Brown Airport were in the half inch range.

Thanks for the many ‘Happy Birthdays’…a good day for a senior citizen….

Reporters interviewing a 104-year old woman: “And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?” the reporter ask.  She replied, “No peer pressure.”

The nice thing about being senile is you can hide your own Easter eggs.

My memory’s not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.
