Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

So, how are you doing during these interesting times?

Unusual Easter season … as a youngster, always attended church services at Zion Hill Baptist Church, north of Bladenboro … dressed up occasionally in a new shirt mom had made from a printed feed bag or a hand-me-down from my cousin. … Yep, printed feed bag … Mom was usually involved when an occasional bag of feed for the hogs or chicks was made … not about the feed but about the bag … someone was most likely getting a new shirt … frankly do not remember if she made blouse from the same fabric or not … But I was proud of my new shirt … Other members of the family were too, I suppose, because if it was not worn out, it was passed down to the younger ones…

And speaking of mom … one of my siblings reminded all, mom passed away 14 years ago, today … April 10, 2004. A good lady, a good mom…

This year a different type Easter service than most are accustomed to. … The sermon will be delivered on the Internet or some other such source … some having drive-in type services … not sure how that works. … And a reminder, tithing is important…

Think my mom would have had a difficult time not attending Easter services … as I do this year. … But, this too shall pass … hopefully soon…

Recorded just over half inch of rainfall over the past 48 hours…

Had an occasion to travel to a Clinton recently … not much traffic, and parking spaces available all around in the downtown area. … Doors locked as few work at the job site, many working from home, thanks to the Internet. … Different times … for sure…

Made a couple of stops along the way … no toilet paper or paper towels … more curious than a need…
