Thoughts While ShavingThere is so much going on in Bladen County, and thank goodness….much of it is good.

Local business leaders are planning a Career Day for high school students.  Brian Campbell is one of the organizers.  The purpose of the event is to “get students more engaged and more interested in class and thinking about continuing their education,” according to Campbell.   Hopefully it will help students be better prepared to enter the work force.  More to come.

A reminder of the 8K Trail Run Saturday morning at Brown’s Creek Bike Trail beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Proceeds benefit USO of North Carolina.

According to various sources, the latest millionaire was back on the job at Food Lion, shortly after picking up her cash in Raleigh.  Brenda Sellers won a million (?) bucks.  She reportedly chose the lump sum payout of $600,000 or $415,503, after taxes. The other option was $50,000 for 20 years.  Everyone I know would like to make such an investment, but something about winning a million bucks and taking home less than half the amount, just doesn’t seem right.

And, speaking of money and taxes, the deadline for filing your 2015 income tax is Monday, April 18.

I dreamed I had just punctured a tire when I woke up this morning.  Makes ‘getting up’ a pleasure.

Team members included, John Melvin, Brian Campbell, McQueen Campbell, John Hester, C. K. Greene, Bill Prevatte, Chris Campbell, Andre Kirk, Mike Smith, Allen Cole, Steve Lesane, David Autry, Phil Wilson and Forrest Lennon.  Coaches were Mac Campbell, Jr. and Robert Hester.

Isn’t it great to live in the 21st century, where deleting history has become more important than making?

Currently the flower business is blooming.

A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.
