Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingI am in DC for a few days.  Yesterday, it was Telco issues all day long, capped off by a presentation by David Wasserman, House Editor, Political Analyst, and the Cook Political Report.  Today, visits to Congressional offices.

The Administration, Congress, numerous governmental agencies including the FCC and the  Department of Agriculture, along with national, regional and local companies are all involved in the delivery of Broadband services to rural America.  Much work has been done, is being done, but much is left to be done.

Wasserman, a NBC contributor during the election season, said voters were suffering from ‘Electorial Dysfunction’ and the only 2 people Hillary Clinton needed to rally the Democratic base are Trump and Cruz.  He played it down the middle, reflecting on elections over the years.

Observing the workforce in DC, without workers from other parts of the world, this city, I believe, would be in a ‘heap of trouble’.  No idea who is legal or illegal.

Can’t help but think of jobs available in our area and to few who will work.  When those with less than an adequate education, and those who fail a drug test are eliminated, companies must look elsewhere for workers.

Today, we feature the 1977 Clarkton #2 team.  Players listed in the 1977 edition of the Southeastern Times included:  Dena Russ, John Hargraves, Clay Shaw, Hansel Freeman, Claude Powell, Jamie Donaldson, Blannie McCoy, Dwayne Justice, Angelo Addison, Andrew Johnson, Robert Carter, Frankie Burney, Samantha Elkins, Richard Priest, Micky Baldwin, Jeffery Packer and John Callihan.  The coaches were A.W. Russ and Dale Edwards.

Baseball is a game which consists of tapping a ball with a piece of wood, then running like a lunatic.  H.J. Dutiel

I never blame myself when I’m not hitting.  I just blame the bat, if it keeps up, I change bats; after all, if I know it isn’t my fault that I’m not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?  Yogi Berra

Doctors tell me I have the body of a thirty year old.  I know I have the brain of a fifteen year old.  If you’ve got both, you can play baseball.  Pete Rose
