Pet peeve.  While recently traveling on I-95, NCDOT workers or contractors working on the interstate post signs saying “left lane closed ahead.”  Cooperating drivers move to right lane, while others ‘zoom by’ as long as possible and eventually gain position, leaving ‘the good drivers’ frustrated with longer waits.  Use those bright ‘orange and white’ cones.
Today’s featured youth team from Yesteryear is the 1977 Elizabethtown Major’s team.  Members included:  Randolph Reeves, Scott Edwards, Richard Kinlaw, Ricky Hester, Harold Murchinson, Hank Ross, Ricky Tatum, Rudy Williams, Ronald Williams, Robert Mazur, Kent Porter, Terry Smith, and David Morgan.  Tony Murchinson was a batboy and Mel Melvin was the coach.
East Bladen’s Annual Reverse Raffle Fund Raiser is planned for mid-May.  Tickets are now on sale.
