Hope your Easter weekend was good … Huge number for church yesterday at Wesley’s Chapel, near Elizabethtown … and a beautiful day…

More good weather for the next week as well … Mostly sunny today with high temp near 78 … more of the same for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs expected to be in the low to mid 80s both days … Possibility of rain beginning Thursday night and continuing thru Sunday … mostly in the 30 to 60% range … Planting time, may need showers…

I enjoy riding throughout the county from time to time … Seldom see a tobacco barn in ‘good shape’, most ’bout ready to topple over … Guess about all they are good for anymore is storage … Wonder if the curers are still in them … Dowless’ curers, Floyds, Buckeye, Mayo’s, memory is slipping … there were many more brands during 40s, 50s and 60s…

Lots of clear cutting of timber throughout the area … saw a sawmill someplace recently … Wonder if liquor stills are still in operation … if yes, no one confessing…

Can you image the home remedies that would be ‘floating’ thru-out the area if COVID-19 had come calling 25 or 30 years ago, maybe 50 or 60 years ago? … Seldom needed to see a doctor. There were numerous home remedies for poison ivy, etc. … Old folks were pretty good at ‘doctoring’ themselves…

Must have been at least 5 or 6 movie theaters in the county, including a couple of drive-ins … numerous new car dealers, none today … Times have changed, and not all for the better…

Ever pick blackberries, huckleberries? Gooooood. And, all kinds of critters were all around … Never saw a skunk, but some of my friends said they did … remember when we would try to one-up our friends…

Sometimes we wore shoes, but mostly barefooted, after mom saw bumble bees … Sorry, just thinking out loud … It’s what you do when you can’t sleep…

“Dear mind, please stop thinking so much at night, I need sleep.”

“Today has been cancelled, go back to bed.”

“I finally got 8 hours of sleep. Took me four days, but whatever.”

“I think I am a daydreamer and a night thinker…”
