Bladen County Commissioners and Elizabethtown City Council meet today…regular monthly meetings. City Council meets at 12 noon for work session and 7 p.m. BC Commissioners meet at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
Had several recent instances of sighting of bears. Last week had one call related to a bear off 701 north of White Lake. Yesterday, a report of a bear near Cromartie Road & NC 87 bypass intersection. For some in the county, not uncommon, for others, unusual. Be aware.

Recently had a ‘rash’ of request for friends on Facebook. Most of the time, if I know the individual requesting, I accept. That has changed. Some are a fraud. After approving, I receive message from new friend wanting to know if I had received my money from someone, usually a government source? That is when I realize it is fraud and I eliminate the contact.
A reminder, the upcoming election includes local & state offices as well as federal office holders, including president. Could be a substantial change on local Board of Commissioners.
