Thoughts While ShavingSpoofing Telco numbers must be a new profession.  Receive a couple or more calls per week telling me they are returning my call, numbers I have not called.  Then receive a call from what appears to be a local number and further research indicates it is from someone in-state or out-of-state, someone taking a poll or selling something.  Guess it’s all related.  Frustrating!

Enjoy reading papers statewide.  Recently observed articles indicating a shortage of Highway Patrol members.  Interested in becoming a Trooper?  Actually, think there has been a shortage for sometime.

Was honored when my favorite granddaughter (only granddaughter) mentioned Thoughts While Shaving in a recent Facebook post.  She (Morgan Hester) is a third year ECU dental student and in her column titled “Thoughts while painting nails and sipping relaxation tea” expressed her feeling about the pressure, frustrations and successes as she travels her own road to become a dentist.

A new Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is opening at White Lake.  The ribbon cutting was held Thursday (yesterday).  We wish them well.  Brings the total medical facilities at the lake to two.  Southeastern Medical Center has served the area for several years.

The New York Yankee west team in the Gulf Coast league lists 7 infielders on their roster, one being East Bladen grad Sincere Smith, 3 are shortstops, Smith’s position.  Playing time for all must be very limited, difficult to get much momentum.

More walking one-liners shared by a neighbor: (Ellen Gause)

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me

The only reason I would take up walking is so I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I’m doing.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks…haven’t lost a pound.  Apparently you have to go there.
