Thoughts While ShavingOlympics continue in Rio.

 

Today promises to be a busy one.

 

White Oak High School graduates will gather at 2 p.m. today for a reunion.

 

The 18th Made in the Shade Open Car and Truck Show will be held on the lawn in front of San Jose Restaurant beginning at 10 a.m.  Always a huge hit in the area.

 

East and West Bladen football teams looked good as they participated in the East Bladen Jamboree last evening.  West Bladen, under the direction of new football coach Todd Pait, was impressive against West Columbus and East Bladen as well against South Robeson.  John Clark has the story on our sports page.

We are having too many fatalities on our local roads.  We all need to drive with care, pay attention to what we are doing and do all in our power to arrive alive.

 

I continue to read about outlandish stories about various candidates and American activities in foreign countries.  Now, I know all is not OK, but, before your blood pressure begins to rise, Google FactCheck.

 

If you ever hear that I will be on the Dr. Phil show, do not believe, trust me.

 

I have used the following before, but worth repeating:

Service to others is the rent we pay for our room on earth.

 

I have often regretted my speech, but never my silence.
