Bladen County Public Schools will all have Open House this week … Check their website for times at all locations … Teachers are returning to their classrooms today … District wide Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 19, and students begin a new school year a week from today … Monday, August 23…

I remember my first year at Bladenboro School in … mmmm … 1943-44 school year … One of the things I remember was we were supposed to take a nap after lunch … Never passed that class. I was concerned I may miss something … Best time … recess, lunch and last bell of the day…

Frankly, I enjoyed my school days, better than doing chores on the farm.

It’s Monday … August 16, 2021 … Hope your weekend was good … A couple of storms on the radar screen … Unless they change direction, should not concern folks in Bladen County … still need to keep an ‘eye’ on their progress…

Bladen County Commissioners meet tonight, 6:30 … regular meeting place, basement of the courthouse Open to the public…
