Thoughts While ShavingIt’s back to school and off to school for youngsters.  For the most part, the youngsters are excited, anxious to move to the next level of their life.  For those headed off to college, another huge step to adulthood.  For mom and dad, tough.  Mom will shed a few tears and dad may need a few minutes alone.

A reminder of the Back 2 School Blast, Saturday (tomorrow) 10 AM to 3 PM at Cape Fear Farmers Market in Elizabethtown.  Free haircuts, free school supplies, free health screenings, free uniform exchange and free hot dogs.  For more information, the numbers to call are 919-606-6350 or 910-862-2066.

Then on Sunday, Smithfield Foods and Foundation Bible Church are sponsoring a Back2School Bash.  Back to school supplies, snow cones, pop corn and a bounce house beginning at 6 PM in the field across from Pawn South on 701 business.  All are invited.

A reminder of the Desmond Bryant football camp at East Bladen Saturday (tomorrow) from 8 AM to 12:30 PM.  Always a huge event for youngsters ages 6-18.  Need to register by 8 AM, and need a parent or guardian present to participate.  Call 910-991-3197 or email dbcamp7.bff@gmail.com for additional information.

Numerous high school fall sports are underway, tennis, soccer, volleyball and more and the 2018 football season begins regular season play next week (August 24), Clinton at East Bladen and West Bladen at South Brunswick.  Game time for most games is 7:30 PM.

Labor Day is just a couple of weeks away.
