We are nearing the end of August … still hot weather. Yesterday’s high temp was 87 degrees.
Sunny today with a high near 82. Partly cloudy tonight, low around 62. Thursday, sunny with a high near 84. More 90 degree highs early next week … Monday 91 … Tuesday 92.
Democrats meeting in Chicago … negative ads ongoing … I remember when mom said … “If you can’t say something nice about someone, just don’t say anything.” My mom was not involved in politics … If my memory is correct, she did vote.

For years, I was part of a team that broadcast high school football … We had a good crew and it was fun … Great memories … a long time ago.
Farmers are busy, beginning to harvest corn … Not one of their better crops … a lack of rain caused some concerns … not much tobacco in our area now, compared with a few years ago … Still peanuts, cotton and soybeans … Apparently a good blueberry crop…
Labor Day is just around the corner … Usually means less activity in the lake areas during the week, still busy on weekends … as long as the weather cooperates.
