Thoughts While Shaving For August 3

Spread the love

Robert Hester, Founder of BladenOnline.comI am proud of the Dixie Youth team, now back home, hopefully after a fun-time in South Carolina … Won a couple of games … would love to have won a couple more, but a lifetime of memories … You made us proud…

I actually enjoy a mini-traffic jam in the area occasionally … not many, but understand why so many enjoy a visit to Bladen…

Hot weather kinda drains me, but come January and February, I will enjoy the memories…

Remember when hunters would put the dogs out and just enjoy listenening as they chased a fox, a deer or something else … Seems there is too little time for that any more…

I look forward to the finished project … the new bridge across the Cape Fear River near Elizabethtown. Temps in the mid to upper 90s, heat index over 100 degrees and folks working away … no doubt appreciative of a cool breeze occasionally…

Sometimes I promise something to someone and then put it off, and put if off and embarrassed to face the person I promised … I promise to do better…

I was happy yesterday when I saw where MacKenzie Gore was traded from the San Diego Padres to the Washington, D.C. Nationals baseball team … No reason, just back east after a few years out west … He was paid several million dollars to play 3 or 4 years out west.

I’m wearing a mask, not because of the pandemic, cause I broke a couple of teeth off attempting to eat a sub … frustrating…

Sunny and hot today … High near 98, will feel like 102 and a 30% chance of rain … Low tonight near 74 … tomorrow, another day like today…

“Joy is that kind of happiness that does not depend on what happens.” David Steindl-Rast

“There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met.” Paul Williams

“The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.” Frederick Douglas
