Thoughts While ShavingSpeaking of shaving … I alternate between an electric shaver and the old fashion way … spread shaving cream on and use a razor … the alternative is an electric razor … Old razor died … worn out. Purchased new … and not sure if it works or not … Change is difficult … I understand why folks over the years just let their beard grow … currently under consideration…

Saw a good article in recent days supporting an effort by some in the area asking the question … “Why not Hedgpeth”, written by Franklin Davis … in The News Reporter … Whiteville, paper … Many agree … Linwood Hedgpeth coached successfully for many years … primarily baseball … high school, Legion, etc., but not limited to one sport … I agree … Several of his former players have reached the major leagues … We had one who played for Mr. Hedgepeth … and later some minor league play … Many are very successful in the business world. He has aged out of coaching and hopefully is recognized … by being nominated and selected to the NCHSAA Hall of Fame. Current nominees will be officially recognized soon … (Already selected) … Next nominees will be announced ’bout this time next year, followed by the next annual meeting of the group. Hopefully, Hedgpeth will be in that group.

PGA players, making a last minute effort to continue play, this season … playing this week in Greensboro … Cut yesterday was at minus 2 … 22 barely made the number … 62 players tee off today … 2nd round leader at the Wyndham Championship is Russell Henley at minus-12. Play continues thru tomorrow (Sunday)…

No winner in Friday night’s drawing for MEGA Millions … Next drawing worth $1,550,000,000 … $1.5 billion … ridiculous … ever get that feeling? Numbers … 11, 30, 45, 52, 56, Megaball 20. Big winners, not the big winner, matched 5 in LA, MO, NE, NY, OK ,TN and TX … Match 5 and Megapiier in MI and TN…

Stock market ‘off-again’ yesterday … just when you think all is well…

A couple of brief showers yesterday … off and on … enough to wet the ground … At the local airport NWS … a brief shower mid-morning … another brief shower just before midnight … Total of all … nearly a tenth of an inch … Totals no doubt varied across the region…

Patchy fog early today (Saturday). Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 90. Mostly clear tonight … low around 71 … Sunday (Church Day) … Mostly sunny, with a high near 93 … heat index as high as 102.

Monday’s high … near 96.
Tuesday 95…
Wednesday 92…
Thursday 94…
Friday near 92. Leave you coats on the hanger.

“I saw a sign that said, “Watch for children,” and I thought … That sounds like a fair trade.”

“What’s the difference between a well-dressed man on a bike and a poorly dressed man on a unicycle? Attire”

“There’s a fine line between hyphenated words.”
