thoughts while shavingBefore we bid Hurricane Debby adieu, we still have remains to deal with … but the situation is improving…

Today’s forecast … Tropical storm conditions continue … Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm early today (before 7 a.m.) that could extend to 8 a.m., then showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 88 … Chance of rain … 80%.

Tonight … A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. with a low around 74 … Chance of rain is 40% … Saturday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 91 … 40% chance of precipitation…

Looking ahead to Sunday (Church Day), a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 88 … Chance of precipitation is 50%…

Our extended forecast has rain included … but mostly in the 30% range thru midweek next week.

Hopefully, folks in the Bladenboro area will see much improved weather related conditions in the coming hours … as well as other locations that had more issues to deal with.

Surface water will soon disappear … Cape Fear River likely out of banks for a few days … Be aware of flooding in low areas … downed trees and other weather related possibilities…

Average rainfall for the current year must be back to average or above after a mostly dry summer.

‘Bout ready to settle down and a return to normal … Call ahead if unclear of what is open and what is closed…

Paris Olympics games continue … closing ceremonies set for Sunday, August 11th…

Anyone disagree … Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer on the planet at this time … won over $28 million this year, has an Olympic Gold Medal, has a new son and is only 28 years old.

A sad golfing note … Golf legend Chi Chi Rodriguez died at the age of 88…

Hopefully, a return soon to more normal surroundings … And thru it all … some families are dealing with sickness, death, serious issues … Remember them in your thoughts and prayers…

“That’s the very reason they put rubbers on the end of pencils … because people make mistakes.” Phoebe Walter-Bridge
