An explanation is in order … I produced Thoughts for Tuesday, January 31 … I thought I sent them … but obviously, I did not … and #2 son was visiting, and I was attempting to have vehicles inspected … my license plates expired January 31 (yesterday) … I usually visit the BladenOnline site throughout the day, not so yesterday … I discovered My Thoughts someplace deep in my computer, and later forwarded late last evening … I offer my apology … I promise to attempt to do better…
Woke up early this AM thinking back to the mid 60s when I had attended Carolina School of Broadcasting in Charlotte … I wanted to work at a radio station … spinning records. Little did I know you could ‘starve’ just spinning records … There is sales, production, cutting grass, any number of jobs that must be done … There were no just DJ jobs available at the local radio station and my bride and I, just married, had no desire to move … so, I applied for and was accepted as a cutter at Top Mode Mfg. Co. … spreading and cutting out dresses that retailed, I was told, for $3.98 and $4.98 … Monday thru Friday, then worked Saturday and Sunday afternoon at WBLA…
Be careful what you ask for … short of it was, I was finally able to get full-time employment in radio and eventually purchased the station … and as happy to sell as I was to purchase … Me and a local bank … More later, maybe…
No doubt, much interest in the weather … Locally, a chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m. today … Otherwise, cloudy, with temps falling to around 47 by 5 p.m. … windy, gusts in the 15 mph range and a 20% chance of rain. Tonight, a slight chance of showers before 7 p.m., then a chance of rain (40%), low near 38. Thursday, showers likely, fog between 8 a.m. and noon … with a high near 48 and a 70% chance of rain … Same type weather thru Friday … Saturday, sunny and cold, high near 43, but warming Sunday to near 56.
Oh yes … 59 degrees at 3 a.m. today … (Oh, I am headed for a nap shortly)
