Dublin Peanut Festival committee is sponsoring a Fish Fry, Saturday, March 4th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lu Mil General Store … Tickets are $20 each … Hotdogs will also be available at a cost of $5 each … It’s a fundraiser!

Not sure when I last saw a tobacco-bed … Remember raking pine straw? Bet many youngsters have never seen a horse collar, a tobacco drag, tobacco sticks … never stacked peanuts or, ‘slopped the hogs’ … or picked cotton by hand … or saw hornworms on tobacco … Just things our youngsters have never seen, never heard of. So much has changed, hopefully for the better.
Many are aware of a garden … with peas & beans, tomatoes, corn & cucumbers … and many more delicious veggies…
High school sports change from winter to spring…
Lot’s of college basketball action tomorrow … None bigger than #9 Virginia (13-4) at UNC (17-11) … 6 p.m. … Big for the Tar Heels … (ESPN)
Another interesting game in the area … Number 1 Houston (26-2) plays East Carolina (14-13) at Greenville, NC. Game time is 8 p.m. (ESPNU)
Hockey tonight in Raleigh … Senators vs Hurricanes at 7 p.m.
Whatever you need to do before the end of February needs to be completed … Tuesday, last day of the month…
