Thoughts While ShavingIf you missed the big ACC game last night, Duke notched a 74-73 win over UNC. The game was played at Chapel Hill.
Did you see the latest effort of redistricting by the NC Legislature?  About half of Bladen County has been shifted to the 9th Congressional District.  Hope and pray, it is not approved.  The proposed 9th District would run from Bladen County to near Charlotte, includes Union County (Monroe), Anson (Wadesboro), Richmond (Rockingham), Scotland, Robeson.  Not good for Bladen.  Comments should be directed to members of the NC Legislature, including;  Senator Rabon 919-733-5963 – Bill.Rabon@ncleg.net,
Representative Brisson 919-733-5772William.Brisson@ncleg.net
Representative Ken Waddell 919-733-5821Ken.Waddell@ncleg.net.
The new plan is on the ‘fast track.’  Could be voted on tomorrow (Friday).
A reminder of the Bladen/Columbus Grain Production meeting tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Powell-Melvin Ag Center in Elizabethtown.  Attendees should have registered by 5 p.m. yesterday.  Questions should be directed to Bruce McLean at 910-862-4591.

Lacey Suggs scored her 2,000th point last evening in a 61-25 victory over West Bladen to earn a spot in the finals of the Four County Conference Tournament championship game.  Check our sports section for details.  Suggs is one of East Bladen’s all-time best athletes.  The Lady Eagles next opponent will be the winner of the Clinton-Wallace Rose Hill game, for the conference championship.
Ever have one of those OMG moments…..My latest was late yesterday, when I pulled onto the roadway into the path of another vehicle.  MY MISCUE.  Thank goodness there was no collision….thanks to the other driver.  Not sure who it was.  My apologies.
