The Iowa caucus is over, the candidates now move on to New Hampshire.
Republican winner…Ted Cruz followed by Donald Trump and Mario Rubio.
Democrats…To close to call, but Clinton is slightly ahead of Bernie Sanders, as counting continues.
I think I like an election better than a caucus, not that anyone gives a “hoot”.
Remember 8 years ago? North Carolina’s John Edwards finished third, before striking out for good.
The next stops, all in February: New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.
North Carolina voters will vote on March 15.
Lauren Clark of Bladenboro is still competing for the title of ‘The Biggest Loser”, but it was a close call. She was on the bubble last night, and her stay was extended by a majority of her fellow contestants. Her mom exited the show a week or so ago. The numbers are shrinking. Weights are dropping and contestants are down to less than 10.
Today is Ground Hog Day.
And on a sad note, The trial of Travion Devonte Smith, 23, of Raleigh begins today. Smith is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Bladen County native Melissa Huggins-Jones in May 2013 at her apartment in North Hills in Raleigh. Selection of a jury has taken a month. Another Raleigh man entered a guilty plea and a Wake Forest female admitted being the driver of the getaway vehicle. The trial will be streamed live on WRAL.com beginning today (Tuesday).
