Been thinking about operating an electric vehicle … I understand much research is underway and auto manufacturers are telling us they will be available in a few months/years … I understand batteries are being upgraded. For years we have paid a tax on every gallon of gasoline we use to pay for construction and upkeep of our highways system … if we no longer use gasoline, who pays? … Hope I am still around when the new system is in place … Just wonder if we can still ‘spin a wheel’ when we take off using a battery … Sorry, had it on my mind and thought I would ask…
One more related question … If we no longer operate on gasoline, do pick up trucks that ‘squat’ in the rear and shine lights in our eyes, those that make a lot of noise … ‘gutted’ mufflers … will they still make as much noise with a battery, or do they need gasoline? Just wondering…
In my younger days, a ‘gutted’ muffler and dark windows were illegal, or I thought they were…
