Thoughts While ShavingThe new Bladen County Detention Center is nearing completion.  Keep hearing the Sheriff’s Department should be occupying the facility on Smith Circle, Elizabethtown, maybe as early as the end of March.  The facility appears to be on time, if not a little early.  The estimated cost in the $20 million range, give or take a million.

Expect the Bladen County Board of Education to come forward soon with suggestions for a revised school alignment and a request for new schools.  It is an issue that has been discussed for years.  Not sure anyone knows how much the board will request or what the realignment will look like.

Also, not sure of the remaining debt for the last school building project, but understand that debt should be paid off in about 3 years.
