December 31, 2024 was a beautiful day, weather-wise … High temp … 71 degrees … Overnight low … in the mid 40s and a nice breeze with gusts as high as 15 mph.
This is New Year’s Day … 2025 … Sunny with a high near 58 … and more wind … gusts in the 18 mph range…
Tonight … Clear with a low around 32.
Tomorrow (Thursday), sunny with a high near 52 … cooler weather is on the way … Looking ahead to Saturday … High near 44, low around 24…
Best chance of rain … Sunday night thru Monday night … in the 30% to 40% range…
I am thankful I was not in New York waiting for a ball to drop … Ah, I know, it could be fun … and I am too old for a thrill…
I did think about younger days when a few buddies and I “hung around the water hydrate” on the main corner in downtown Bladenboro … Not much going on … Roy Fores was a policeman. He would stop by occasionally to make sure the fire hydrant had not disappeared … He was our friend.
I think of those among us who will take a dip in the lake or beach today … Not me…
