A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM FRIDAY TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY … for portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina … Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

Yesterday’s high temp was 38 degrees … Clear skies overnight with a low in the lower 20s.

Friday, a chance of rain, mainly after 5 p.m., with a high near 38 and a 30% chance of rain. Tonight (Friday), rain and freezing rain mixed with sleet before 10 p.m., then freezing rain between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., then rain after 2 a.m. Low around 30 degrees and windy, gusts as high as 17 mph.

Saturday … A slight chance of rain between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cloudy through mid morning then gradual clearing with a high near 46 … Windy, gusts as high as 17 mph and a 20% chance of rain … Saturday night … clear skies with a low around 23.

Bladen County schools will be operating using remote learning. All after school activities scheduled for Friday and Saturday … are cancelled…

Western North Carolina will be receiving a $1.65 billion, federal disaster grant…
