I love Mondays. Regardless of what is going on around us, time for a new beginning.
How about the NFL football playoffs? I stayed up past my bedtime Saturday night and decided the Bengals had defeated the Steelers, was surprised on Sunday morning to learn the Steelers scored late to win. Then, Sunday, gave up on the Seahawks, with less than 10 seconds left in the game the Viking place kicker missed a ‘chip shot’ field goal and Russell Wilson and the ‘hawks remain in the playoffs. There next opponent will be the Carolina Panthers.
Tonight, college ball takes center stage. NCAA championship features Clemson and Alabama. Should be a great game.
Are you a dreamer? Been doing that for years, but as I age my dreams seem to be more real and usually center around a visit to some large city and at some time I am lost. The latest, last night, not just lost but could not remember the city, or the hotel where I had a room. I walk for a while, caught a cab only to remember I have no idea where I am going, the cab meter is running ‘wide-open’ and it is getting dark. I am just about ready to give up and then…I realize I am in my bed with my spouse and all is well….
What would you do with $1 billion? Remember a farmer told me years ago, if he won the lottery, he would continue farming until he ran out of money. That was when most farmed 5 acres of tobacco, or less. Many were sharecroppers. Today, a different world. Few farmers, with large acreage…..good businessmen and women. But, after 2015 they could probably use some lottery funds. Some never harvested their entire crop. To little rain, then to much rain.
A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.
My kids are very optimistic. Every glass they leave sitting round the house is at least half full.
If you’re not suppose to eat at night, why is there a light bulb in the refrigerator.
