The pandemic continues … Bladen County’s population is 33,778. Of that total 19,104 have received one shot (56.56%). 15,338 are fully vaccinated (45.41%).
There was a long line at times at the Bladen County Health Department, yesterday … Not sure if for testing for the virus, or individuals receiving shots … maybe some of both…
Should be a busy weekend for sports … and with cold weather arriving, a good time to sit back and enjoy…
Sunny today, with a high near 57 and a strong north wind. Increasing clouds with a low around 21 degrees tonight. Saturday, partly sunny with a high near 48. Saturday night, rain likely between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., then freezing rain likely after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29, windy and a 70% chance of precipitation.
Sunday could be tough, weatherwise … Freezing rain before 8 a.m., then more rain. High near 52, windy and 100% chance of rain … 1 to 2 inches expected … and more of the same Sunday night, with a low near 33. MLK Day, sunny, with a high near 49.
A reminder, the MLK parade begins at 11 a.m., Monday. Parade Marshall is Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance, the first female of African descent to hold that office in North Carolina.
A hearty salute to William Harrison DeVane … He has been nominated by Congressman Dave Rouzer to attend the US Air Force Academy…
