Thoughts While ShavingGrass has turned brown, again.  After an unusually warm December, green vegetation was not uncommon.

Time to make sure all is in order if you plan to vote.  The primary election date has changed, from the first Tuesday in May to the 15th of March.  The General Election date remains the first Tuesday in November.  Questions should be directed to the local Board of Elections, located at 301 Cypress Street in Elizabethtown.

There are 22,099 registered voters in the county according to the BOE website.  14,159 Democrats, 2,935 Republicans, 26 Libertarians and 4,979 unaffiliated.  If you have not registered to vote, need to take care….There is a cut-off date.

Gov. McCrory is busy pushing a $2B bond issue for capital needs in the state and that does not include road construction.  Not unusual, Governors over the years have taken similar action.  Check out what’s included.

When you see ‘grumpy’ folks or those with a ‘smile’, ever wonder why?  Could be any number of reasons. Just as I think from time to time about those I meet on the roadways…Wonder if they are using drugs, alcohol, texting, anything that would cause them to be less attentive to their driving responsibilities.  When I meet them, I want their mind to be on driving and they should expect the same.

Would be a good day to change the direction of the stock market.  The first few days of the new year have been disastrous.  But, better days are ahead, I hope.

Do you plan to purchase a lottery ticket?  I am not sure that attempting to manage that much money is worth it….but sure would be an interesting adventure.  I know, we give to family, friends, church and good community efforts and would still have millions left to deal with.

The financial markets are weird.  Every time one person sells, another one buys and they both think they’re smart.

A study of economics usually reveals that the best time to buy anything was last year.

Why did God create stock analysts?  In order to make weather forecasters look good.
