Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

I hope I live long enough to see a Congress that puts the ‘work of the people’, me and you, above their own selected, often selfish interest … Ever feel we are victims of ‘snake oil salesmen or sales ladies” And I believe they, for the most part are good, decent people who are so involved in the politics of it all, they may forget the purpose of their position … After all, they persuaded a majority of locals to support them, to vote for them … Just a thought … Maybe they are introduced to, and become ‘snake oil sales folks.’ … both parties … Just thinking out loud…

Feels like January weather … cold, damp, windy … thank goodness, no snow that I am aware of … in our area … Different story for those in the western and northern part of the state … Forecast for today … Sunny with a high near 49 and windy with gusts up to 15 mph. Tonight, clear skies with a low around 27 … More of the same for Sunday…

Looking ahead, a slight chance of rain Monday and Tuesday, other than that, mostly sunny with highs in the 50s.

Continue to hear from folks from yesteryear who no longer live in the area … who read BladenOnline and “Thoughts’ … Thanks for the contact…

A reminder of the ‘fundraiser’ in the Clarkton area today … Chicken Bog plate sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Callahan family who lost their home due to a fire Thanksgiving morning … Just another reason why I love calling Bladen County home … Loving, caring folks who are busy helping others…

Happy Birthday to Lillie Bess, our next door neighbor who waves often when we are outside … A cutie pie and my friend … Only about 80 years difference in our age … She lowers the average age of our neighborhood by several years…

Remember when you could not wait to grow up?…

“That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet.” Emily Dickson

“It is not the length of life, but the depth of life.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.” Michael Landon
