Thoughts While Shaving

I always enjoy reading Jefferson Weaver thoughts … latest for BladenOnline … ‘What I Believe’. If you haven’t read it, hope you will.

Good article in latest edition of ‘Our State’ magazine … ‘The Belle of Bladen County’ … about Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery…

Another recent article that caught my eye, written by Woody White, a Wilmington attorney who spent his early years in Bladen County. He is a New Hanover County Commissioner. Suggest you Google, ‘Black Lives Have Always Mattered’. It’s on Facebook … I think … Good reading.

Saw John Ward’s obit … He was one of the last and best service station operators, ever. His business was located for years at the intersection of US 701 bypass & NC 211 in Clarkton … He retired years ago … He was 90 years old. A friend to all.

I’m a huge fan of William McGirt, a Fairmont HS grad, a professional golfer, who has been sidelined for a couple of years with health issues … (a couple of hip surgeries). He is playing in the Jack Nicklaus Memorial, PGA tournament this weekend, Made the cut yesterday in the tournament where he scored his only win … in 2016. He is in his early 40s, has won nearly $10 million in his career, should be good as new and ready for much success in years to come…

Been following the sad story out of the Wilmington area, where a newly born baby boy was discovered in a trash can … Last report I heard/saw, the mother had not been identified … So sad, so easy for us to condemn … We all travel different paths. Continue to pray for the baby and the mom…

Weather forecast … scattered showers and thunderstorms possible, mainly after 2 p.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 94, with heat index as high as 100 and a 30% chance of rain. Same type forecast tonight with a 40% chance of rain. More of the same Sunday with a 50% chance of rain … high near 94…
