Rose early this AM, ’bout midnight, and I heard the pitter-patter of rain … Oh so brief … Total shower measured … maybe a trace … The temperature was near 78 degrees … And the rain ceased … Checked further … We received nearly the same amount about 24 hours ago … With that as our baseline … We still need precipitation…
Today (Sunday morning) our forecast is for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. … High temp expected to be in the 90 degree range … Forecast is for 30% chance of more rain … Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are possible between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy … low temp near 73 … 60% chance of precipitation…
Looking ahead to Monday … Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 90 … heat values near 100 … and a 70% chance of rain.
Similar forecast daily thru Saturday … We can use more rain … Begins to sound like a broken record … every little bit welcomed…
Good morning this Sunday…
Yesterday was a good day for our small Hester family … my bride and I, plus 2 sons … and we all had a brief time together Saturday … Always good…
Say a prayer for the elderly, the sick and the lonely … and others … many with special needs…
Reminder … Bladen County churches welcome ‘all’ every Sunday…
As a huge sports fan … enjoy keeping up with area baseball players in the ‘big leagues’ … The Cincinnati Reds “jumped” on Nationals lefty MacKenzie Gore of Columbus County, who got off to a ‘not so good’ start Saturday … He gave up 2 runs, on three base on balls, faced seven batters … tossed 48 pitches in the 1st inning … pulled after a couple of innings … National came back to defeat the Reds 5-4…
The Chicago White Sox (27-73) continues to struggle … losing to Kansas City 6-1 Saturday … Columbus County native Brooks Baldwin played in his second ‘big league’ game. Had a hit in his first at bat Friday … O’fer last night … The White Sox suffering from the worst 100-game start in franchise history … Baldwin struck out in the fourth inning with the bases loaded to end the inning … Baldwin and Gore are quality players … better days just ahead…
Kinda jumping all over the place … a pet peeve … Some churches removing hymnals … I remember as a very young, youngster learning to read … So proud of being able to read from the old Baptist … Broadman Hymnal??? … I know, selfish … Just a Thought…
We have a bird bath in our backyard … where we can observe from inside where it’s cool … Birds were having a good time yesterday…
Hope your Sunday is good…
