Sometimes I enjoy thinking about days gone by … yesteryear … about times and places … activities that shaped our lives, (my siblings and I) … people in our community that helped us navigate the good times and not so good … But there was always one given as a youngster … We, my siblings and I, would be in church on Sunday. In our younger years, mom and dad took us to church, later, sometimes we were sent to church … the vast majority of the time, our parents were with us … And old habits are difficult to break … I will be in church today … because my mom told me I should be there … Hope to see you there…
Elizabethtown Dixie Youth team was defeated yesterday by West Robeson … tough loss, bases loaded, trailing by 3 or 4 runs and the batter struck out … A great lesson for future years … Give all you have, deal with the results and move on … We are proud of you, and thanks to all for your support … Huge crowd for the entire tournament … A positive experience for all…
I think of some of the big league stars … about their runs batted in, their home runs … but check their strikeouts and errors … In the game of life … crap happens … despite our best preparation … None among us are perfect…
