The Bladen County Health Department and White Lake officials are actively involved in checking reports of a skin rash by some swimmers at the lake.  They, and we, will keep you posted.  White Lake is a very, very important part of the Bladen County economy.

It’s good to see Bladen County Habitat for Humanity in business.  A ground breaking ceremony is planned for August 12 at 10 a.m., in Elizabethtown.   Dawn Madden, Humanity Executive Director, shared some details with Erin Smith about the latest effort in an article on this news page.  Hope you will check it out.

Dems are playing up the fact that their candidate for President has ‘shattered’ the glass ceiling for females.  Hillary Clinton was officially named their choice for President last night.  Now, the race is on.

Summer Sounds continue tomorrow (Thursday) evening at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market.  ‘Spare Change’ will provide the music from 6-9 p.m.  It’s free and everyone is invited.  Two more are planned for August.
